The Rural Community of Fundy Shores is located in southwestern New Brunswick along the coast of the Bay of Fundy.
Formed through the amalgamation of several local communities, Fundy Shores is home to a small but vibrant population and plays a key role in New Brunswick’s energy landscape.
Fundy Shores is a nuclear host community and is home to the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station, operated by NB Power.
The facility has undergone a major refurbishment to extend its operating life and continues to play a central role in the province’s energy mix.
In addition to ongoing operations, the Point Lepreau site is under consideration for future nuclear development, including the potential deployment of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technologies, subject to planning, regulatory review, and government decisions.
Together, these activities reflect Fundy Shores’ role in supporting both current electricity generation and the potential future evolution of nuclear energy in Atlantic Canada.
