INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
Global Partnership of Nuclear Host Communities
CANHC is engaged with the IAEA through technical meetings and forums focused on stakeholder engagement and the role of host communities in nuclear governance.
Building on these engagements, CANHC has joined peer nuclear host community organizations in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States to establish a Global Partnership under the auspices of the IAEA. Other countries are in the process of joining.
This initiative provides a platform for:
- cooperation among host communities worldwide
- sharing of lessons learned and best practices
- dialogue on governance and engagement models
- support for emerging or prospective host communities
Through this partnership, CANHC contributes Canadian municipal experience to international discussions and strengthens global municipal collaboration and the sharing of practical experiences and lessons learned among nuclear host communities.
