Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS)
The Canadian Nuclear Society is a professional organization that promotes the exchange of information on nuclear science and technology and its applications, including nuclear power generation, fuel production, uranium mining, and waste management.
For host communities, CNS resources may support foundational understanding of nuclear science, technical developments, and emerging issues relevant to municipal leaders and staff.

Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA)
The Canadian Nuclear Association is the national industry association representing companies involved in the nuclear sector. The CNA engages with governments and stakeholders on policy issues affecting the industry.
CNA resources, including its “Nuclear Explained” materials and its Canadian Nuclear Fact Book, may be useful for understanding industry perspectives and accessing plain-language information on CANDU reactors, SMRs, safety, nuclear medicine, and the nuclear fuel cycle.
CNA resources reflect industry perspectives and should be considered alongside regulatory and independent sources.
Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI)
The Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) is an industry association representing Canada’s nuclear supply chain, including engineering firms, manufacturers, service providers, and technology companies that support nuclear facilities and projects across the country. OCNI also supports an OCNI Youth Shadow Council (OYSC) offering mentoring, job shadowing and career exploration.
For nuclear host communities, OCNI resources can provide insight into the breadth of companies involved in nuclear projects, workforce and supply-chain considerations, and the industrial ecosystem that supports nuclear facility operations, refurbishment, and new development.
CANHC has entered into to support information sharing, awareness of supply-chain and workforce considerations, and dialogue relevant to municipal nuclear host communities.
University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE)
The University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE) is a partnership between Canadian universities, nuclear industry organizations, and government that supports nuclear education and research, and knowledge development in nuclear science and engineering.
For host communities, UNENE reflects the academic capacity and workforce development pipeline that underpin Canada’s nuclear sector.

North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN)
The North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) is a non-profit professional organization supporting the next generation of nuclear professionals across North America. NAYGN provides opportunities for early-career professionals and students to build leadership and professional skills, develop networks across the nuclear sector, engage with the public, and contribute to the future of nuclear science and technology.
Established in 1999, NAYGN now includes more than 150 local chapters across North America and is part of the broader Young Generation in Nuclear network internationally. For nuclear host communities, NAYGN represents an important link to workforce development, youth engagement, and succession planning within the nuclear sector.
